Cheers to both the seller and the buyer, good to see Barney is off to another good home.

May Barney continue to bring happiness to its new custodian

Congrats to you both.

What are you getting next and if I may ask, why did you sell it? I must have missed earlier posts since I've been pretty busy lately with life.

How many purple 993 TT's are there out there? Just yours?

Cool story all around, if I'm understanding it correctly.

I almost thought about bringing it out to Oakland for a little while. I work in Oakland just about every week and keep a car out there. My C2 was out there for quite some time and I thought Barney would be a fun car to have there....but then I thought about sitting in traffic in it, pulling in and out of parking garages, etc etc.....and the answer was a resounding "NO".

Thanks again guys for all of your support, and Ben, great meeting you, keep the PICS coming.

You know, I look WAY to serious in that picture!!! I SHOULD be hugging the car or something....maybe hugging YOU!

Amaranth Violet is a factory color. It was available on the entire 993 line up. Mike seems to know the number of 993s that were painted that color, but who's to say how many Turbos the factory painted that color.

There is a Cab on eBay right now:

Ben, where are you located in Colorado? I'm outside Boulder, in Superior. I would love to meet up and see that car in person.

I am in Evergreen. Once the sand is mostly picked up off the roads and I get plates for it, I'd love to meet up some time as well. Perhaps a "Welcome Barney to Colorado" gathering of some sort?

That sounds great. Let the weather clear a bit and take Barney to the cars-and-coffee in Lafayette where lots of car lovers would love a chance to see him as well. I'm looking forward to it.

and congrats again!

Great looking car! Congratulations Ben. We should start a new poll to ask who of us wished we would have purchased it.

....and the whole time it was for sale and the thread was growing at a rate I have yet to see on RL, I was certain I was going to miss out on it.

I am VERY excited to be the new owner of such a celebrity.

I've been tempted to take a look at that car as it's not too far from me. It has a slightly different interior than mine, I have a black dash and black trim on the doors. I'd personally love to know how many 993s were made in this color.

About 10 to 12 years ago my Dad and I saw an Amaranth Violet 993 Turbo in West Michigan... Barney perhaps?

I love mine BTW! In the bright sun it's just as purple as can be... overcast/twilight it's more like a deep blue, and at night everyone thinks it's dark blue or black.

Congrats on the purchase!

I agree! The difference between natural light and non-natural light is simply stunning, especially for a non-pearl, non-metallic color!
