Finally a "real" Porsche....
Attached are pictures of the new member of the household....a 1997 C4S in Silver with a Grey interior, 6 speed and 23,000 miles. Two owners and nice condition.
My affair with Porsche started back in 2000 when I purchased a Boxter S. I liked the car, but was not in love. I was really hearbroken when I was in Frankfurt and my host asked what I drove. I said a Porsche. He asked me which model and I replied a Boxster. He looked at me with a sad look and said, in english with a German accent, "Thats not a real Porsche". I sold it two months later.....
I just got this car a few weeks ago and am taking it in for a 30,000 miles service in a few weeks. Last owner really loved and cared for this car, so hopefully all is not too bad. Will be removing the seats to clean the carpet, but thats about it.
Looking forward to participating on this board...and for the snow to melt.

Wow, that guy in Frankfurt had quite an impact. Should have asked a guy in Stuttgart. Congrats on the new addition to the family. It is awesome. Rennlist is one heck of nice ride itself. Enjoy both.

Enjoy! Kinda like what mine was like when it was new and perfect. I'm guessing the car (properly) won't be subjected to your winter weather. (Off into another snowstorm to go skiing tomorrow.)

Welcome to the party!
I would be interested in your driving impressions between the 986 and the 993.
I have only driven rear engine Porsches, never a mid engine or God Forbid a front engine Porsche.
I do think it would be nice if my wife got a Boxster S so I could borrow it now now and then.

Welcome to the mayhem that is RL. Nice car, you'll love it...but I'm biased!
<<---Here's what she'll look like 80,000 miles from now!
As for the boxster.....if you ever do an autocross (HIGHLY recommended!), you'll find yourself being left behind by one quite possibly. Damn that mid-engine weight balance and handling.
What's that poking out of the front hood near the wipers? Some kind of radar detector?

I "upgraded" from a a 2000 Boxster S as well, very different cars.
The Boxster is clearly a better daily driver, handles incredibly and is cheap to operate but failed to stir my soul like the 993 does.
Have Fun !!!!

great score! I just picked up a new-to-me 993 too. These things are great! just got to love the proportions of the car.
the right curves, lots of visibility, little c pillars, tight little doors, etc... the list goes on to how awesome the presence is of the original 911 body style. (especially to a 911 fanatic)
love em
