58k miles on mine in 07. Exhaust guides were pretty shot but the car ran well and didn't use excessive oil. SAI forced the issue. Decided to fix it right instead of messing around trying to clean out the passages. Car has run beautifully and not used a drop of oil for 27k miles since. Should be good to go for a long, long time with the phosporous bronze guides in there now. Everything else on the motor looked great, the wrench said, and he had carte blanche to change anything that looked like it needed it.

Feeding or not, it's an honest question.

Bought mine with 99K in 9/04, had a top end in 2001 @ 75K for failed smog/SAI problem. No idea how worn the guides actually were. From prior disassembly of a couple hundred (or more) mainly 2.7L and smaller engines when I've had my shops, no factory guides look like anything but crap past 70-80K. Often on the thermal reactor cars they were toasted at 30K. Then consider valve stem taper, especially on the intakes.

Default DENIAL

THANKS
for chiming in
they all r in DENIAL, sai issues, cell lites, low compression, bad leak down #s
leaky valves, they should all check their 993, for ENGINE HEALTH

compression test (good 205-215)
less COMPRESSION will burn oil or slight smoke u can't C

they should do their own compression test ! know what's in store !

Never mind... using my portable enigma machine I decoded the message. Cell Lite = Check Engine Light.

Who exactly is in denial?

Here's some bait... 210 compression @ 50k miles, less than a quart burned in the last 3k miles with 6 days at the track.

At 29k the valve guides were worn out. No indication of a problem. Great leak down and compression numbers. I torn it down to upgrade the rods and cams. The replacement guides are much better quality and should last 100k+. Because I caught the guides early the valves and seats were in greats shape.

Mine was done around 23K. If you're trying to be scientific, you should close this and start a new poll to also include those that haven't done it and how many miles.

Mine was done by one of the previous owners at 7X,000 miles at the dealership. Currently at 111,000 miles and no known issues with compression, SAI ports clogging, or excessive oil consumption.

Rebuild at 65K. Guides were very worn causing misfires thus tripping the CEL.
