Yesterday was my first day out with my "new car". You people in the south and in CA will never understand the utter joy of early spring driving a favorite car (993 of course) after a long winter without. It is like falling in love for the first time.
Alright, I will move on now. I have a new car. Hard to tell exactly what all is different but the whole package feels integrated. My shifter is smooth but much sharper and more precise thanks the FD Goldenrod. My clutch pedal is now easy to depress and the uptake is perfect. The flywheel is amazing...the car spools up so easy and free...and no driveability issues whatsoever. And the motormounts...oh...those motormounts.
My car feels all connected...the engine, transmission and the way it handles. The rear end feels very connected and integral when I turn the car. In the past with my stock mounts I would take a long sweeper at high speed and would wait for the back end to "plant". It was a quality I used to love...very satisfying actually. But now, I enter a high speed turn and the car is planted straight away. Even more satisfying.
Oh, did I mention the wheels? They look very nice in these garage pictures...but I cannot convey what my eye sees in person. The gold looks toned down, bronze & gold if you will. The paint guy got that old BBS racing gold look just right and is spectacular to look at with arena red (to my eyes of course).
So there it is...my new car. It is March and I am so excited to own a real 993!

I totally hear you on the sumi's running narrrow. I have them on my LMs as well and they look super stretched, I even went up to the 295's

Yes, I got the 295s and they look great. I am impressed with the ride and handling of these tires (first hundred miles) so far.
