Tire sizes for my new 18x8.5 and 18x11 wheels
I've searched endlessly but still couldn't find definitive guidance, so I'll ask yet another tire question:
What is my best bet for tire sizes in the following situation:
1998 C2S
18x8.5 ET 46 fronts
18x11 ET 52 rears
H&R coilovers,
Front springs 295#, Rear springs 360#
Euro TT anti-roll bars (22mm front, 21mm rear)
Too lazy (and warm) to crawl under the car and measure the ride height correctly, but right side fenders are 25" f&r, left side fenders are 25.5" f and 25.25" rear, no driver and almost no gas in the tank. Tires are extra-inflated for winter, not that it adds much I suppose.
Camber -1.0 front, -1.33 rear.
I am looking for a neutral setup. I do not want to roll the fenders. I don't like the skinny-tires-on-too-wide wheels look. I will use spacers in the rear as necessary (probably 7mm or 14mm) for final fitment.
Mostly spirited street driving, occassional autocross, and hopefully a few DEs this year. No commuting. No cold or wet weather.
A 305-section rear seems to be the right nominal size for for the wheel width, but I can't find non-R compound high performance tires in this size. 315s seem like a waste of weight in a car with this hp. Are 295/30/18s appropriate?
For the front, 235 or 245 seems to be the recommended option. Will a 245 fit in my case? I realize not all 245s are equal.
Would a 245/295 combo be the best set-up? Should I consider something else?
How critical is the front/rear diameter difference in a 2wd car? A 295/30 is 25" tall. A 245/35 is 24.8" but limited availability. A 245/40 is 25.7" but much more common.
Recommendations?

I would be going for a 235/295 combination. With your alignment there is a chance or some rubbing with a 245 tire.
Also as you have found the nice short 245/35 is a hard one to find with an appropriate rear.

I've got 245 Hankooks on the front of mine, 295 rear. Track tested, too, as of last Saturday! No issues.
Plus, for the oversize factor, the GT3 wheels are 235 + 305 X 19. No issues in ~2K street miles.

Given the diameter disparity of 245/40/18 (25.7") and 295/30/18 (25.0") would I be better off with a 315/30/18 (25.5")? I must admit I'm a sucker for fat tires, but will this just throw the handling balance off again towards understeer? Some seem to have no problems with fitting the 315s, but I'm not sure. It looks like there is room considering I'm using up all the space to the inside.

Those size and offsets seem familiar...Gemballa wheels??
Depending on the brand you plan to use, 245 or 255 for the fronts and 295 or 305 in the rears would work nicely. Also, why no desire to roll the fenders? It's not a big deal and gets you almost another 1/2" of clearance.

Not against it, just fear of:
1) Doing it myself and f$%#@ng it up
2) Not being able to find anyone locally to do it right
Obviously I have no experience with this, and don't want to practice on my own car
