Thinking maybe installing myself, then taking to the shop to setup, corner balance, adjust camper, align, all that.

Is there a definitive writeup somewhere, or installation instructions, including tools needed? I'm sure I'd need a few extra specialty items. The P-car writeup is a little geared toward the Koni / general. I'm looking for specifically JIC.

Also, anything I need to know about doing it that way? Any issues with installing and then taking to the mechanic?

Should be about the same install wise. Just the spring perch measurements & of course shock adjustments will be different. But they all bolt to the car the same way.

it is NOT JIC centric, but i'll bet 98% directly applies to your needs.
his DIY was a sticky here.

i followed his DIY and drove 12 miles for alignment and CB with no issues.
