The C2 and C4 mounts are interchangable on fit but I believe the C4 mounts are slightly tighter...not liike the RS or Wevos. Wevos are tighter and supposedly give a bit more noise and vibe than the RS.
Retail price on these are between 375 and 400.
Most of my knowledge is here-say...if someone needs to correct me, I yeild to the better informed...

How much less are these on the group buy vs. retail?

Again, there are more informed people here, but as I understand it, the RS mount fits C2 w/o problem. The RS is slightly different in height than the C4 so a spacer may have to be made. Others have said you do not need to. There is a thread discussing this that was live not too long ago.

The C4 mounts are stiffer than C2 but not as solid as RS. The Wevo is stiffer yet.

I debated between the Wevos and RS mounts. What I have been able to glean from these threads is it appears that there are more complaints from guys that have installed Wevos than with guys installing RS mounts. Also, I am a bit more comfortable running Porsche parts for authenticity reasons. If I had a car I ran at the track, I would consider Wevos, or if really serious, solid mounts.

If you have a C4, the C4 mounts are a less expensive option = less than $100 per mount if I remember correctly.

There was a clear statement from Mr. Heimer in the other post that the Wevo "fit the c4" and he has done it multiple times. As most of us might know, he is cone of the tech gurus and I based my decision on this statement when I installed the Wevo mounts. My car is mainly a DE car but I do not mind some added "roughness" which adds to the fun for me (like the lowering, the RS clutch and LWF, bucket seats ...). For a street car I might have considered the RS mounts. GL to the group buy!

Just ordered 2 sets (via email - I called, but Bob is off until Monday - I already have an account with them) - one for me and one for OFD. That should put us over the 10 required for the group buy.

Tks to Vince for setting up this group buy . Also tks to Steve for helping me get these to Canada.
I love this place, but my wallet always seems to be empty.

Cheers,
Geoff

Does the engine carrier have to be reinforced for the RS mounts?

Except that you now have to pull quite a bit of stuff off the rear of the engine to get the mount off (including the rear exhaust, A/C carrier, sheet metal, crank pulley, etc)., get it welded and painted, and then reinstall it. Its a bit of work (not huge, but work nevertheless).

How many in the GB are going to reinforce their carriers?

Just ordered. I guess we are now for sure over 10. I'm not planning to reinforce my carriers as I don't do track time anyway.

My engine will be out for clucth and flywheel (LWF ) so "while I am in there" (I need to get used to typing that little phrase for sure!) I will be reinforcing my engine carrier. I broke one on my SC years ago and don't want lightning to strike twice.
