Get a PPI done at Callis and be guilded by that. You may have found a great one. Good luck.

Any past the first owner, you can't possibly get an honest or accurate answer to certain questions.

Ansolutely... but I still would not shy away from a multi owner well documented one. But like Daryl (SuperUser), I may be prejudice.... mine had 4 prior owners; one had it for 2 years, the other for 18 months, the next for 10 years and the last for 7 months. I would have preferred a well cared for and well documented one owner car, but instead got a well cared for well documented 4 owner one.

I think we're up to +4 in terms of votes for $11.5K of work at Callas being a good thing rather than a bad thing. Also, there are so many more important criteria that holding on for a 1 owner car, while a being "good thing," can lead to a very long search.
My "wet blanket" comment is that if I was looking at a V-ram car with more than 50K miles on it, I'd want a new top end, unless it's priced to allow for one. Unfortunately, this one seems to be priced a bit beyond full market. I see no urgency in the purchase of this example.

None of those items seem out of the ordinary 'cept the VC as mentioned by cgfen. But if the work was done to make it perfect, why only replace the right side plug wires during an engine out? Sounds like he may have been skimping.

The work done seems like maintenance stuff reasonable considering the mileage. Huge plus. Tony is extremely reputable. He's the kind of guy who will ensure a car is well cared for on the service side.
The top end concerns have some merit but I'd talk to Tony before using this against the car. Obviously he knows the issue well and he might be one of the shops in CA that perform SAI flushes as part of regular maintenance on these cars which go a long way in preventing clogged SAI ports. My observation with SAI issues is that they are the exception more than they are the norm. It seems like a big issue because everyone on the forum is concerned about it but if you do a search and look at polls, I'd wager than 10-20% of cars have had SAI issues before 100k. That said, dcdude has a good point. I'd prefer a car with the top end already done at that mileage. If this becomes an issue, it generally tends to surface at around 70-80k mi.
Price is another thing, but it's tough convincing someone who just spent $11k on the car that it's worth market value, regardless of who is right.
Best of luck.

how well eqpt'd is it? It better have LOTS of options for that asking price.
Regardless of recent big $$$ service, IMHO this car is way over priced. High $30's would be a deal, not mid $40's.

Compare the car being discussed with the one below I found trolling autotrader. I believe it became available today. No affiliation.
