Default Won't Start - Battery??

Been sitting for few weeks and it's really cold. Turned key and nothing but rapid clicking sound. Radio and interior lights working fine though. Is my battery just dead or is this something else. Feedback much appreciated. Suggestions?

Sounds like it. Turn off the radio and lights, may have enough juice to turn over.

Get a new battery, and keep on a bettery maintainer. How old is current battery?

A few possibilities...
  • weak battery - have the battery load tested after it has been fully charged
  • high resistive connection at the battery and/or starter
  • faulty starter although not likely

Drained battery. Learned my lesson last winter. A couple of weeks in cold garage is all that it takes. Bought a trickle charger and all is good. Search threads for trickle charger info if you don't have one.

NOT a trickle charger. You want a battery maintainer. BIG difference.

Not only that, but he wants some current capability so that he doesn't make a career out of charging his battery.

The CTEK 3300 puts out 3.3 amps that will charge a partially discharged battery overnight. Then there is the CTEK 7002 that puts out 7 amps.
