Default comfort blinker

Anyone installed one of these in a 993? I'm going to do it, but if someone has already figured it out I won't reinvent the wheel

I have that feature on my GTI... when I drive other cars, I get caught just doing the one blink lane change. I never thought to search on adding this feature. Do you have a link?

IIRC somebody posted about this over the summer. ECS Tuning has a kit that *might* work on our cars. We need a guinea pig, who wants to try it first?

This is a great feature. Here is the ECS kit: http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Turn...omfort/ES8792/

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the Audi or VW, it should be easy to duplicate for the 993. I'm up for the challange to make it work.

Here is a diagram that may work:

I have installed the esc kit in my Audi B5 S4 (which is what got me thinking about putting it in the 993). The kit is a VW OEM part, by the way, that is plug and play on B5 Passats and Mk 4 Golfs. On VW/Audis it splices into the hazard switch wiring. The hazard switch might also be the turn relay since it makes a racket when you signal.

Here is a picture of the comfort relay with diagram.

As far as I can tell from my Audi wiring diagram:
#2 - rear left turn signal light
#5 - rear right turn signal light
#8 - turn signal switch
#6 - power
#4 - ground

I don't understand how it knows which direction I signal with only one lead to the turn signal switch. Maybe someone can interprete that diagram on the relay?

check my thread here : https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...rt-module.html

I ended up splicing the relay into the wire bundle underneath the steering column.

I just bought the VW relay (part no 000-953-227 if I am not mistaken) and made up the wiring myself, no need to buy that expensive original wiring kit.

Here is how it should be spliced into the original wiring :

Color VW wiring kit / Number relay / Color 964/993

Weiß-Grün / 49a / SW-WS-GN, d.h. Schwarz-Weiß-Grün
Grün / 49R = R / SW-GN
Weiß / 49L = L / SW-WS
Braun / 31 / BN also Braun
Schwarz-Weiß / 15 / SW

Akerlie -

Do you remember what wires you spliced into?

I took of the steering wheel and found them in the bundle under the column, did it that way since my flasher relay which on my car is located behind the oil gauges did not have all the wires required (only 3 wires go to the flasher relay on my car).

Edit : BTW if you want the original wiring kit its VW part number is : 000-998-229A

Thanks - I'll give it a try in the next few days with the relay out of my Audi.

You are welcome I was also hoping it would be a plug and play thing as when i added the comfort blinker to my Audi A2 but unfortunately I saw no other option than to splice it into the existing wiring.
