Default 993 Race Exhaust Systems

Looking for some input on the quality/value of exhaust system brands. Have looked at Fabspeed, S Car Go, FVD..... Like that Fabspeed offers Headers with Muffler/Straight Pipe as a full system.

Currently I am running stock Headers/Cat... And no mufflers.

Thanks

The typical track set up that I see seems to be Supercup "mufflers" and a cat bypass of some sort, most commonly by Fabspeed. I run the DACH cat bypass and have been impressed with the quality. Overall sound of my combo is expectedly riotous. If there's any loss in torque, my lap times have not seen it.

I have the Fabspeed Maxflo header/muffler system that you can quickly convert to straight pipes. Great for track, but resonance between 2,000 and 3,000 RPM makes it very annoying for anything besides short road trips. Since I bought mine, Fabspeed added a "recommended for track use only" disclaimer on their website. I'm going back to stock manifolds, Dach X pipe (as soon as they build it ) and Fister Stage IIs. I'll have the Fabspeed system for sale soon.

In my circle of 993 track junkies, we have an overwhelming majority using Fabspeed set-ups in various configurations (stock cat with supercups, fabspeed cat bypass and stock mufflers, bypass with supercups, and full headers and straight-pipe set-ups). In addition, I have had both first and second generation supercups on my car. Despite the unfortunate lashing that Fabspeed seems to take on this forum, we have all been very happy with our set-ups.

I did recently come across a deal I couldn't resist on a used set of Reid Washbon custom headers/straightpipes, that I'll be installing next week. Depending on the results, my Fabspeed bypass pipes and gen II supercups may be for sale in the near future.

Sweet ... will need a full report ^

Agree with Glen and others, Fabspeed +/- DACH is the track setup of choice. Of course, if you don't have a budget, you can buy all sorts of boutique equal length headers and custom straight pipe +/- muff arrangements.

even fire engines like Porsche flat 6, Ferrari V8, Ruf V8, Ferrari V12, Ferrari flat12, Jaguar V12 don't want to connect the banks except as part of a carefully engineered tri-Y setup. They benefit most from keeping the exhaust pulses as far apart as possible.

"Reid Washbon custom headers" very nice!!

Thanks Folks..... Looking at Fabspeed options. Need to get the plan locked and loaded so the car is ready to racing in the Spring.

Appreciate the input.

I have Fabspeed headers (copies of GT2 models), no cats or mufflers and GT2 test pipes. My tech was quite impressed with the Fabspeed build quality and I've been very happy with the results.

I will personally vouch for Brians set up with the GT2 extractors. Sounds visious & is very ,very fast. This car can light one tire uo for 50 meters comingout of any corner @ MMC.
