Tire pressure for winter tires
Got some for the C4S for ski duty--205/50 and 235/45 X 17 Michelin X-ice thrown on some Cup 1 wheels left over from the RSA race days. All ready to head up into what looks like nasty weather Fri/Sat up in the Sierras.
First impression driving back home from the shop is that the ride is cushy.
Real question, though, is what's the proper pressure for getting through hard core snow and ice conditions?
(Will post a picture tomorrow. If nothing else, Cup 1s on a 993 widebody look odd.)

Figured not much has changed on that front since my last go-round when I had the '92 C4 and the house in Reno.
What I was really hoping is that someone has good, first hand experience on what actually works best in practice. Just as if someone wanted to know where to run an RA1 versus a Pilot Sport Cup or Hoosier on track. Each has its own characteristics on dry pavement. Wondering if there is a sweet spot for stopping on ice.

Race Car
Just like most of us have to do with our track tires, we get a general indication from others that use the same tire then adjust to suit our own driving style and car nuances. Same with Ice tires.
For me I run Dunlop snow tires on my DD, a rear wheel drive 3 Series, We run snow tires from October to April, so we spend alot of time on snow and ice. I run my pressures about 2lb over stock, this is where i found the sweet spot for the Dunlops. The blizaks on my wifes car run at stock pressure, seems to be their sweet spot.
You will need to find someone that run's the X-ice and make adjustments from there.....
