Dennis, you don't still have the thing by any chance? If not, give some thoughts, please (I'll probably see you on the 4th).

I made the second tool.... it's probably in VERY rough condition by now. When I made it was intended to be used once but I gave it to Adam and then it took off from there
I need to dig around in the garage and see if I can make something more durable to replace my original tool, which was aluminum with a bronze bush. I am glad it's been helpful to others.

You're on!

OK, here's the current list as dredged from my PM's:

Ponchobroke --> moots --> JPS --> SkiDan --> firesm --> e9stibi --> Greg H --> ande5000

I think it is currently with JPS in Manhattan .... then to two stops in Canada ( BC and Ont), then to e9stibi to cross the border again ...

Thanks! Looking forward to this and some other suspension upgrades I'm doing this summer.

Default New Tool Now Available

New Tool Now Available.
I think it might make sense to have this one catch up with my original tool since there seems to be a surplus of roll-pins moving along with it (and I don't have any). If the old aluminum tool is still functional then there is no point retiring it. Please post here if you have the other aluminum tool so I can send you this as a replacement... if it needs to be replaced.

This one is a little more stout with a bearing and an easily replaced bronze bush. I also designed it so the length lines up with the tie rod so positioning isn't an issue. I haven't actually tried it yet since I don't really need two sets of holes on my tie rods, but it should work pretty well

I have the kit with the bazillion pins. If you want to send this along to accompany / replace, that's great. I haven't used it yet but planning to next weekend.

The new tool is en route to JPS where he will test it out and then move it along to the next person.
Thank you Garth for the idea. This is the best free modification I have done for the car.

Just a reminder to those of you doing this, if you have an older model 993 make sure you have the steering rack brace. My car didn't have one yet and I just found out a few months ago.

LOL...there is a rubber sleeve inside the tie rod (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...hapter-ii.html) and it pins them all together so apparently less slop. I haven't done it, but none of those who have and posted said it was anything less than great.

So I have this one in my possession:

And also have this one coming:

The first one came with prob 50 pins or so. I'll look at both kits and if they both still seem tight, I'll just send them out with pins in each to the next 2 on the list. If the first has worn out, I'll retire it and send the other along with the pins.

Jos, could you please keep a pair of pins for me? I can pick them up or will pay for shipping when it's my turn. Is it one pin per rod?
