Default Anyone know Victory Motorcars?

Just as the title states...what is their reputation? Anyone dealt with them?

Prices seem a little high, but as always, negotiable.

TIA

I would do alot of searching on this company and come to your own conclusions. If you decide to look seriously at one of their cars, tread cautiously, do your own inspection and get an independent PPI from someone other than the shops they recommend. I think this holds true for all purchases anyway.

They have a reputation for being very shady. Search the archives and read the horror stories.

I'd NEVER buy from them. If I were you, I'd run in the other direction.

+1, some searches will tell you what you need to know.

I ran across Victory during my 993 search. Didn't get very good vibe after talking to owner Robert Neal.

same feeling here...they had a beautiful C4S that was priced just a little above what I wanted to spend, Robert wasn't negotiable at all. He said he would just sell it overseas for that asking price.

they have some nice looking cars. Be suspect of any documentation, and as stated earlier...try to see the car yourself and get a full PPI at a shop they don't reccomend.

As with any other dealer, you'll hear good and bad. There are a few members here who had great experiences and got great cars too. Do your homework.

Except for being liars who resell poor cars and set lawyers on any customer who has a problem they are a fine company.

in addition to the search feature, just google "victory motorcars complaints" you will find 10s of stories just like this one:

http://www.germanautoforums.com/foru...ead.php?t=5942

if you are local, it won't hurt to go down there, they do have some stuff that is very fun to look at.

DISCLAIMER: if you have a SO, don't take her with you, Robert Neil has a wandering eye, and sort of looks like weird 80s **** star, sans mustache of course, and will most likely creep her out!!

Yeah, I bought from them, even negotiated it down a bit, but in my naivete I got lucky. Still had a ppi (Victory's recommended guy - again, I got lucky, but get an independent one instead) and had a friend in Houston look at the car before I pulled the trigger, but my due diligence would be even more stringent now. It seems my experience with these guys was the exception, rather than the rule.

Almost five years and 38K miles later, the car is still doing great. Any issues are on my watch now.

Do you your research and get a PPI on any car that you are looking at purchasing. Purchased my 993 about 5 years ago from them and they treated me right by replacing the after-market security system with a brand new unit. Robert sent a driver to get me when the unit went bad and the car would not start, it was a bad situation but with good customer service to solve the issue. The have a lot of air-cooled cars and will negotiate a little on price. Have not been to their new location which now has service, have not seen much on this board about that side of his business.

Good Luck with your search!
