aaaggghhh - I can't come this year, although I've been the last three. I'm up here in Highlands, NC (just north of the route) and it's raining at 7.00 pm on Thursday evening. The rain generally comes from there to here, so some of the slush has been washed away. It's supposed to be partly cloudy tomorrow and plenty warm, so conditions should be good, for everyone except garage queens.

Hello - first post on the 993 board but you will see I have a few on the 964 board. I will check for updates on road conditions, but Lana (relatively new GF), and I will be at the HD by 9. I look forward to meeting all of you.

How about 8:00-8:15 at the Starbucks at
435 Peachtree Pkwy # 400, Cumming, GA 30041
(678) 965-4073
As you go North on 400, this is the Starbucks off Exit 13 to the right (East) of the highway.
This will give us about 15-30 minutes to grab a latte and still have 30 minutes to rendezvous at Home Depot at 9.

Tomorrow, there is a good chance that we will run across areas where snow/ice melt is running across the road and if that happens, you can expect to have some salt residue splatter up on your car...That said, a quick trip to a car wash and a high-pressure spray off of the undercarriage, followed by a hand wash at home will take care of that.
I live up here year-round and my 993 is my daily driver...Salt and gravel are part of the December-February experience up here...I try to avoid it when I can, and do drive a pick-up during the worst of it, but I really don't think that what we have up here is anything to worry about, and it's certainly not close to what Rennlisters in the northern tier of states have to put up with.
