RS Upright question...Do they change the 'spindle' height?

Bill is correct I measured mine and the mistakes you are making are:
a) that the pivot point of the tie rod is the center of the ball joint (not the hole on the arm). The arms angle the ball joint differently ....which greatly affects the working length of the arm.
b) the turning axis of the steering is the strut, this is not even a part of the upright.
Taking this into account and measuring in the horizontal plane to the axis of the damper strut....the lever length is the same for both. So I am calling you perceptually impaired.
