PSS9s, they ever need rebuilding?
A rhetorical question....I bought my PSS9s used in about 2006, maybe a bit earlier. The fronts were rebuilt in 2002, or thereabouts, the rears were original.
I was thinking, its about time. I have been thrashing these shocks/struts for years, maybe they need some "love"? The adjustment ***** were getting sketchy to feel where they were
So off came the shocks/struts and they ere sent back to Bilstein, Poway, CA by my parts Supplier, SGS Motorsports in San Luis Obispo, CA
I paid the extra charge for expedited service, about a 4 day turn around. Back come the shocks.struts, looking good. SGS Porsche installed them for me, re-aligned and corner balanced the car, voila, off to the track.
Damn, what a difference, the car just simply handled significantly better. My best time on this particular track last year was about a 2:17, dog doo slow. This years I was at a 2:11. In addition to the suspension, I had removed about 150 Lbs from the car....but the better handling car inspires confidence.
I think net.net it was $700 to rebuild the suspension from Bilstein...new PSS9/10 are at least $2,500...I am happy. And BTW, SGS specified revalving to reflect my 98% track and 2% street driving.
Next step, dial them back to full soft to experience street driving.

Not to say I don't love my FD Motorsports Stage IIIs. They are my street muffs. They put out a great sound as well, just a wee bit more civilized.
