Default MO33 vs MO30 Coilovers and Springs

Hello
Am i correct in understanding that both ROW options allow ROW "sport" ride height settings, but MO33 is "comfort" and MO30 is "sport".

I'm interested in removing my Bilstein P10's to go back to a more compliant ride but want to keep lowered ride height.

If my understanding is correct MO33 seems the way to go?

Cheers

Craig

hey Craig...

if you want more compliant then M033+Bilstein HDs is a good choice.
It is by no means "soft" but absorbs public road imperfections better than M030s with HDs.

In my experience, M030+Bilsteins is rather stiff. M030s are a progressive spring.
And yes, same ride height adjustments available with either.

Of course, this is one of those things that has a lot to do with personal preference and where you drive.

You are correct. Mark has MO33 springs on his cab and it sits really nice, still handles great, and is a bit more compliant than MO30.

M033 was the ROW/Euro "lowering" option. From memory, it was described as an option to lower the car to the same point as the "sport" suspension (M030) while maintaining a similar ride to the base ROW/Euro setup.

US standard = SUV ride height and standard/comfort springs

US M030 = SUV ride height (same as standard), stiffer springs, stiffer "sport" shocks, thicker anti roll bars

ROW/Euro standard = lower ride height than US via shorter springs. Similar spring rate and ride.

ROW/Euro M033 = similar spring rate and ride as ROW standard but ~20mm lower (shorter springs)

ROW/Euro M030 = ~20mm lower ride height than ROW standard (same as M033), stiffer spring rates (stiffer ride), stiffer "sport" shocks, thicker anti roll bars.

Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure i will NOT use HDs, too many comments regarding harsh bounce without revalving.

Mark, sending you a PM.

Cheers

What other options are you considering?

I have Mo30s and HDs and am very happy with the ride. But I would not want it any stiffer for a street car.

See Craig?
It really is a matter of personal taste and local roads.
Your best bet is to get a ride in one or both...

I'm installing RoW M033 springs w/ OEM Monroe shocks over the Thanksgiving weekend. I don't track this car and can always change later if it's too soft...too many comments about harsh HD's and I'm on Michigan roads!

Sunset sells the complete set for $993.

I went with M030 w/Bilstein HD. (bought from Darin...)
On rough road a bit harsh but overall, very happy with ride especially when I go through high g-corners.
No regrets!!!

Have you considered Koni FSDs? They've received great reviews for comfort for a number of cars.

I have the M033 and monroes on my car from Sunset. The ride is just slightly stiffer than suv standard suspension. The only thing I wonder about is if Koni's set all the way soft would be a better choice than monroe. I definitely would not consider the Bilstein's if you are trying to maintain a somewhat compliant ride.

Mine came with a brand new set of 033s and Monroes. I like them. They are more compliant than my previous 993 that had HDs. For my tastes the HDs were a little harsh.
