Arrow STEREO UPGRADE

A project is coming up, and that is to upgade my sound. The original Becker cass/radio has to go out. Speakers also need to be upgraded.

Now, below is some of my ideas. It is of most importance to keep the interior as original as possible, not add any rebuild of panels or adding cases behind the seats.

So far I have pu together this set up...........maybe someone have done anything similar?

SubWoofer witch will fit under passenger seat

Nice setup. I’ve been trying to think of a “clean” solution for a subwoofer. I really like the idea of it hidden away under the passenger seat. Please keep us updated on the install.

Yeah,,like it too, but it seems hard to find that brand in US
It´s German made as far as I have manage to trace up. Now there is some Helix on eBay, but not this one with the case(pic above)

I tried that same player. For some odd reason, it was about 1/16" too wide to fit properly. I finally gave up installing it and took it to a top-notch installer who also couldn't get it to fit properly without mods. I ended up taking it back to Best Buy and ordering one of these Kenwood units. Fit perfectly and the screen is bright enough to see in all but direct sunlight.

Thank´s for valuable tip "timabe".

Tried the perfect fit thing on BestBuy.com(didn´t know they had that option on their web side). It came actually up with "does not fit" for 993/C2....so here we go again.

BTW...how to remove the old player?..Do I need some rare Becker tool?

Installed the Kenwood BT900 unit in my 96 4S last week and it's a great unit.
Bluetooth on it is amazing as well...
The one thing that is missing though is Bass in the car.
So any solution for adding more bass would be great.
That Sub looks great but from a quick Google search it seems impossible to find.
Any info on this would be appreciated.

I replaced my system with all Morel Speakers.

No affiliation: http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_3way_elate.html

I replaced the armrests in the back seats, had enclosures built and had two 6 inch subwoofers installed. The system sounds amazing. I will say though that it never will compare to the sound of the engine.

Rhino - That's the classiest interior I've ever seen in a 993. I did'nt do a search, but I would like to see more pics. I like the location of your subs. I’m wondering if something like that may work in my cab. I know there are control arms/motor/etc for the top, but maybe a slim line 8” might fit. I’m going to look into it this weekend to see (if any) room there might be. Now I have 2 ideas for the placement of subs.

I went through this whole thought process a year or two ago. Under seat subs are hard to find and listening to anything in a store was impossible. There is a very large portable sub available that might fit in the rear footwell but it didn't look right to me. 4x6s in the rear shelf didn't quite do it. I finally just went with the Rod Birch JL 8W1 subs in the rear foot wells powered by my existing PPI amp (bridged). Problem solved.

For me, the rear 'seats' were useless so I had them ripped out and I built enclosures that leveled the back area pretty much flat with the sub sitting in each seat depression. Used perferated aluminum to cover the speakers with the OEM style carpeting over everything. I did add two vents per sub to allow air movement within the enclosure. Oh, I have the DAS rollbar so nobody could sit back there anyway.

My PO put two subs custom made into the rear footwells and didn't take up that much space. You can have them if you want them.
