Atiwe steering wheel install
After reading that the 'M433' 993 option code relates to the fitting of an Atiwe steering wheel, I installed a 340mm Atiwe Silberpfeil today (Raid/FVD/Ruf style, but Atiwe branded), which was pretty straight forward following instructions I found on RL (as installation instructions are in German only):

In addition I had to fit a new airbag plug, which was also easy following the (thankfully) English instructions, which were included with the Raid boss adaptor. No welding needed, only some wire cutters, pliers for crimping and insulation tape. The airbag light goes out successfully, both horn buttons work and I made sure I adhered to the tightening torque requirements (thanks Graham):
Airbag retaining screws - 10Nm (7ft/lbs)
24mm nut - 45Nm (33ft/lbs)
Took her for a quick spin this afternoon and it really does make the car feel different; there seems to be more steering feel, certainly more comfortable to hold, easier to get in and out, with no knee rubbing when driving and the extra 'girth' feels brilliant. Bigger isn't always better?!? Aesthetically, for me it's a big improvement on the standard bus like four spoke.

Yup, got one too...not cheap but it makes the car feel quite different, more responsive. 340mm is quite small, its amost PC-gamer small, but its also fat and fits your hands well. When I drive a "normal" 993 now they feel very awkward, with the large wheel... :-)

You can buy one from Gert at Carnewal with the Raid badge:

Might be worth asking him if he can source them with the Atiwe badge if the branding matters to you (linked to the M433 option code).

It also brings the wheel 20mm closer to the driver so those of us with the seat all the way back don't have to drive with arms out straight.
