I love the way it handles and the way it sounds (and I have a stock exhaust)

I love that the 993, and therefore me, is ON all the time.

A friend was behind me in his 5-series the other day on the way to work. We hit an on-ramp and I blasted through the curves. When we got to work he said he knew I was going to do that and went to manual shift and sport mode. I told him "My car only has sport mode."

I love the classic looks, the feel, the handling. AND the fact that I can drive a sports car that will carry two sets of golf clubs! In fact, I have a set of JIC coilovers that I haven't installed as I'm afraid I'll lose too much of the cushy ride...

Also I like the support of this forum. I've fixed a couple of minor problems on the car and haven't had to take it back to the dealer so it saved me money, I generally hate the "dealer" experience, even though there is nothing wrong with my local dealer.

I love the smells. The leather smell when you sit in the car and the engine smell after you drive the car. Heck, I just finished driving mine a little while ago and I'm going to the garage and take a wiff now.

Not to hijack, but my 18 yo son and I went to a local dealer (Rosen) to pick up some nuts and bolts. The service manager came by and he and my son got into a discussion about the 993s and what makes them so great. The guy was so impressed with the level of knowledge and my son's enthusiasm, he gave him the item below and me $10 off a pcar baseball cap. So to answer the OP, I love that people who know, know how special this car is!

Same here. If I didn't go to car shows or events I would rarely see one ever.
I also still get a kick out of people looking for the engine when I open up the front trunk.

First car I sat in that fits like a glove; you wear it, you don't sit in it.

As a kid I was in love with the Jaguar e-type but that was way out of my parent's league. As an adult, I sometimes nearly have to pinch myself to believe I REALLY own a 993.
Beautiful and empowering...and the more I learn about its inner workings, the more I am impressed with the qualilty of its build.

The 993 is a treat for the senses: It smells good: It looks good; It feels good; It sounds good...and if you own one, you have good taste!

You've been inhaling too much Jet-A.

@Rich: I could. It is a scary combination. I guarantee it will never see the skin of a human body. Still kind of cool tho' that the guy gave it to him

Yea, Newport Beach has a few, inland OC = 997's. LOL

My second is, 50% of the time when I get gas people make comments, then I tell them it's 15 years old. Jaws drop, eyes get big as quarters.
