Ok silly question however does the battery tender just get plugged into the wall and left there? Do you close the hood completely or just partially click closed? And then you still put the cover on over top? I've always just removed the battery for the winter and kept it inside the house!

The charger I use on the Porsche and the BMW are the on-board type so they have relatively short wires, about 18" or so, that connect to the battery and a very short 110 V wire with plug that is 6 inches long. The whole thing just tucks in under the carpet in the trunk when not used.
The extension cord is a little to fat to allow me to close the lid on the Porsche but the BMW has a spot where I can close it so the light goes off. I just push the trunk latch on the Porsche closed to turn off the light.
