Do you guys remove battery when storing for winter??

Yup. Forgot to state topped off fuel, air to whatever max psi is for tire.

Most trickle chargers / conditioners use very thin wiring. So once the battery is connected, you can still close the luggage compartment properly. Then you can cover the car as per normal.

The charger I use on the Porsche and the BMW are the on-board type so they have relatively short wires, about 18" or so, that connect to the battery and a very short 110 V wire with plug that is 6 inches long. The whole thing just tucks in under the carpet in the trunk when not used.

The extension cord is a little to fat to allow me to close the lid on the Porsche but the BMW has a spot where I can close it so the light goes off. I just push the trunk latch on the Porsche closed to turn off the light.
