Cleaning tire sidewalls & tire dressing?

Cleaning tire sidewalls & tire dressing?
I put new tires on my 993, Hankooks and used a spray-like foam to make them black, and found that now it left a brown residue which I want to clean, so what should I use?
And after that what kind of "dressing' works the best to keep the sidewalls black, but not too shiny? I don't want to use this spray-foam again...
any thought are appreciated!
Cheers,
Bert

Lacquer thinner will remove whatever dressing or residue is on the tires. Some additional dressing choices are Vinylex and 303 Aerospace Protectant. Vinylex has a bit more shine, while the 303 is more matte finish. With either one of these, you can get a good look by applying the product lightly with a foam applicator, then wiping off any excess, rather than spraying the product on the tire.
Some tires, notably certain Michelins, turn an ugly brown pretty quickly after cleaning and dressing. I don't know of anything that prevents this.

fwiw, I like Chemical Guys All Guard X Natural Matt Shine Dressing. The Optimum Opti-Bond (mentioned above) is also excellent if you want a bit of a gloss.
I rarely use stuff on my tires, but it's probably a good idea. The sidewalls get the most UV exposure and no doubt it does help against rubber cracking/degradation, etc..

I've been pleased with One Grand E.R.V. (Exterior Rubber and Vinyl) Dressing. It's not sticky, not very shiny, and seems to soak into the sidewalls enough that on the next wash I get some water beading on the tires.
I get ERV along with One Grand Blitz Wax from www.carcareonline.com. No affiliation; just a satisfied customer.

Wesley's Tire Cleaner
Wesley's Tire cleaner is an old-school product available at Walmart that leaves tires clean and in a dull/matte black finish. Tire slime like the dealer detailers use leaves the tires with a wet look. Dull and clean is better, IMO. Doesn't get on the car cover, looks natural rather than the "ready for resale" look of the slime.

I've been using Westley's bleach white for years. It keeps tires looking very black with no shine. Some say it's harsh on wheels if you leave it on for too long. I always apply it on a wet wheel, followed by a quick scrubbing and rinse.

I have used Meguiars Hot shine tire spray. Athough is implies "shiney" I find that overall my tires have a bit of shine but generally looks low gloss and "rubbery"...Black and not dried out. I wonder though, they have a "tack" that is there permanently so if you put your palm on the sidewall you will end up with a sticky black palm. Like the look but wonder if the "perma-melt" on the side of my tires is good for them and perhaps I am melting the enviroment too? I will be interested to read others' choices here.

Here's a pic with the opti-bond. Not too much "bling". I like the deeper black look for a little contrast with the rim.
+1^^ on the Westley's Bleach White to clean the tires. Used it for over 20 years. I used to use it on the raised white letters of my muscle cars and it was really the only thing that worked. Leaves the tires looking a little "dry" and light IMO. However, I just mostly use a brush a soapy water to clean the tires on a regular basis. The Opti-Bond lasts keeps a nice dark finish for weeks.

+1!... I'm a recent convert from 303 to Stoners. Great stuff.. and it will not turn brown. I spray it on, let it sit until I'm done with the interior, then I wipe off the excess so it won't end up on the rear portion of the fender wells.
