Hi there, I'm about to get a set of 18'' wheels for my 993 NB and I have seen a replica set of Turbo 997 in the good offset for 460.00. Anybody here already bought a set. The company claims that the wheels are per oem specs.
I bought many original porsche wheels in the past for many more dollars, and I know that this wheel package is probably not per Porsche specs, but it's new and in my point of view, if they look as good as they are on the 997 turbo, it's gonna look nice on mine too. What do you guys think,,,
Thank you
Here is a picture of the wheels
It might look ok, but the quality of those wheels is suspect. If they are light, they will bend easily, if they are strong enough, they will most likely be quite heavy.
Personally I'm not a big fan of those 997 wheels on the 997. Doubt I'd like them on the 993. I'd stick to more period correct wheels, but this is really a personal matter of taste.
I talked with a gentleman for some time at the Porsche Parade. He bought the 993 new and has been upgrading it every since. He has the wheels your asking about and had them painted to match the vehicle's color. I thought it was extremely sharp. I apologize for the pic. It doesn't show the wheels that well but it's the only pic I have.
On second thought - they look different. They have too much of a lip. I would have deleted this post, but not sure how.
Must have been going through a midlife crises back in the 90's.Still does not understand owning a car that has an age appropriate color.FY, cheesy tail and the truck stop stick on side view mirror. 997 turbo rims will only look good on a Dodge. They are one of the ugliest wheels Porsche has ever made.IMO
^ Obnoxious post, but I do agree with the truck stop mirror stick-on. Anyone that needs one of those on a small sports car is not adjusting his mirrors correctly. Which brings me to one of my biggest pet peeves with fellow drivers: seemingly no one knows how to correctly adjust their mirrors.
