Nice talking to you yesterday Dan, sorry for the rush on the phone, I was actually in the middle of finishing some CAD work and had to get approval on the design. Just wondering though, would you be interested in a trade, or are you specifically only looking for a sale? Also, while its highly unlikely, have you had any previous rust problems on the car? Any SAI problems or oil leaks? Thanks in advance!
Sorry to anyone reading who I haven't returned calls to, I'll call in the AM. Long long day here in Seattle.

You couldn't be more right. As soon as it goes I'll regret it. That's what happened last time so at least I know what to expect. I have that "grass is always greener syndrome" If only I had a bigger garage, more time and more money.

I'm telling you Altvater, don't do it! I regret selling the 88' Targa, but do love my 83' 930.... of course a 993 would be nice, or long hood, or..... ok maybe I have that grass is greener syndrome too.

Dan, I was thinking of trying to take a look at your car this weekend but I wanted to follow up on Kie's comment first. Do 95's have the secondary air intake but not have the sensor to trigger the CEL light when the carbon builds up or is the actual intake design different and there are no secondary intakes at all and thus nothing to clog?

Good question, not sure. All I know is 95's don't have the check engine problem. I've seen guys on here pull the SAI to save 5 lbs or so. My understanding is that it only operates on start-up.
I'm available on Sunday if you're free this weekend.
thanks,
Dan

I just got done replying to multiple emails asking the same questions so I think it makes sense to add some of my responses here.
1) I still have the rear seats, belts, and other interior bits. I do not have the original front seats.
2) Recent service...belts, plugs, all fluid. Recent AC Compressor and Spoiler Drive.
thanks!
Dan

2. US and Canadian MY 95 993s (01/94-07/95) were equipped with OBD I which
does not trigger a CEL for clogged SAI ports. Late production MY 95s had the
later OBD II style plug but were still OBD I.
3. US and Canadian MY 96-98 993s were equipped with OBD II which does
trigger a CEL for clogged SAI ports.
4. From my understanding, ROW cars were not fitted with SAI.
How is this relevant here? It means Dan's stunning 95 won't trigger a CEL for the SAI "issue" that is common to most, if not ALL, 993s.
Dan, I truly understand the "Grass is always greener syndrone" that you're currently experiencing. However, everytime I drive the 993(s) after a lengthy break, I get that stupid smile back on my face. And this despite trying out some truly amazing machinery in the last 18 months.
