Tell them you want newer tires and you expect them to cover all cost. The worst they can say is no. After 34+ years of marriage, I have heard "No" many times.

Bret, you should definitely give them a call. If not to return/replace tires (I understand it'll be hassle to do so from Canada) than to simply complain and probably get a certificate for a discount off a future purchase (should you decide to purchase from them in the future).
BTW, I re-read Bill's note and started thinking about life before TR. I can't honestly remember when they were not around. I've been buying from them since at least late 80s when Eurotire and a few others were heavily competing with them. Back of Car and Driver, Yoko A509s, baby So it takes a lot of effort to sour a 20+ year loyal customer, no?

Will you be using them at speed for an extended length of time? On track for example?
Several European vehicle manufacturers of high performance sports cars, coupes and sedans identify that "under no circumstances should tires older than 6 years be used" in their vehicle owner's manual. However, it should be noted that European recommendations must include driving conditions that include roads like the German Autobahn, which allows vehicles to be legally driven at their top speeds for extended periods of time.

I will call TR later today and see what they have to offer.
Thanks for all the advice!

I called TR today and provided them with information that I thought that the tires were made in 07 and 08. There is a large sticker on the tires that came from the manufacturer of the tires in Japan (see pic below). I only took one cell phone pic of one of the tires so it is not a great pic. There are stickers on all 4 tires which show the same production dates (with the exception that the fronts were manufactured in 08 and the rears 07).
OTOH-the DOT information on the tires (included in another crappy cell phone picture of one of the tires) would lead me to believe that they were produced at a much later date. In this case the tire would have a birth date of March, 2011.
Whom am I to believe?

That was my interpretation as well, as per previous post.
Just wondering why the stickers on the tires have a different manufacturing date. Unless I hear otherwise I will keep the tires.
Thanks for all the input from everyone.

Per Sumitomo's website, your Sumitomo tire warranty is based on the tire "bearing the DOT stamp":
http://www.sumitomotire.com/assets/p...t_warranty.pdf
So if you had received the tire without the "product sticker", you would have been looking for the DOT stamp on the tire anyway
As other's have indicated, your "0311" tires are pretty recent

Bought some PS 2's from TR, great price and delivered in 5 days to Canada. Received the tires and had a Michelin dealer trying to install on new Vossen rims. Would not balance too much run out, dealer told me they were old, not sure how much. TR refunded without much hassle, but beware Canucks, they cannot refund the Canadian tax or duty, have to try and get back from the goverment
