Default interior transformation - sneak peek

new seats and steering wheel GT3 "style" carbon fiber seats with leather and alcantra padding. Steering wheel is OMP Corisca 360mm (i know it's huge but this color combo only comes in this size)

Hopefully I can finish the other side tomorrow.

Man I love your car, but that red wheel is a bit much for me! I guess you are going for a match on the red wheelcap accents? The seats and wheel should add a lot of feel, though. Enjoy!

Are those seats from Revozport? I'm thinking of seeing if they will make a carbon fiber batphone console

Time to remove the rear flip-down seats and seat belts, especially since nobody's going to be able to ride back there with the race shells installed.

Great work! I just did similar seats (see my thread "self gratification with pictures - outlaw 993"). Mine were retrimmed at the factory in classic grey but they have the CF backs. Im happy with them so far and they didnt break the bank. They are a bit o an experiement so I will be leaving my rear seats in for now.

I really like your red steering wheel and think it will look good i the car and key into the wheel centres. Red front belts are an option but this may be too much....

Cheers
M

911ist,

Could you confirm where you sourced the seats?
Once you got some seat time, can you share your impressions.
I want to ditch my seats for lightweight ones too so interested in your experience.

Thanks !!!

The interior is going to look great. The exterior is already awesome.

thanks for the comments...after lots of wrestling, i finally put in the other seat. Steering wheel would have to wait until the weekend.

I bought the seats from Rottech group buy over at the 6speed forum - http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/g...uy-2010-a.html. It included the brackets, sliders and all hardware for 993 for $1400 shipped.

I am about 80% happy with the seat. The shoulder harness trimming is very plasticy and does not fit that well. The leather is acceptable. The sliders are great but a lot of time (at least for me) needed to be spent on making everything line up. I am very happy with the bracket and hardware as quality is top notch and important things like metal threaded bolt holes in the seat is a major plus since it can't be said on some of Recaros/Sparcos that I've come across in the past. The seatbelt holder hole on the bracket sits way too high for the stock seatbelts to be effective so I had to drill a new hole to make the holder sit lower for proper strapping. Once you make all the adjustments, everything fits perfect and sturdy. Carbon fiber shell looks awesome! With all the hardware mounted on the seat, it's still much lighter than stock especially compared to the stock driver seat - that sucker is Heavy! Overall, I am happy with it but if I see a good deal on a set of used GT3 seats, I probably will regret this purchase.

That steering wheel is very special.

The only down side is your hands will soil the red suede in a hurry.
Use spray on sude protector.

Everything else is really nice!.
Dont forget your RS door panels next!

GT3 seats are an awesome upgrade. I never want to go back to the stock seat (driver's side anyway).

leosayer,

Im just loving the look of your interior! Are those seats custom covered in your interior leather or from the factory in that colour? Are the GT3 seats factory or aftermarket? Id love to see more pictures if you have them?

Thanks
M
