OK, so I ripped off Austin Powers. I've been reading and memorizing every post/thread here for the last month; so, in advance, thank you all for your advice and guidance. I never thought I'd be a Porsche owner (dream car) but here I am. I'm gonna drone on for a while so if you tune out I understand. The short version is: I got a deal I couldn't pass up. Yeah, the Godfalther is the best movie ever and I could'a quoted that there but I'm not gonna be so cliche.

I recently had the opportunity to fly down to Palm Desert from Sonoma and drive a '95 black/black/black 993 Carrrera home. Up Hwy 1. I never thought I'd have the\chance to drive a car like this in my lifetime but here I am with one in my garage.

I've learned enough on this site that pictures are required so I hope these show up.

The car has a few things to sort out so I'll be searching this site constantly and asking a lot of questions.

I saw that there is a Porsche gathering at Ledson Winery in Sonoma on Sept. 25th. What are these like? I don't think this car is Concours caliber but would would love see it parked in amongst a bunch that are. Ledson is just down the street from where I live.

You'll find 'meets' to generally be full of friendly people suffering from the same disease. During these events, you will get ideas from other cars. This will drain your wallet. Quickly.

Yes, pictures or die. The Ledson Winery PCA concourse is Sunday, the 26th, but I would think you might be more interested in this Rennlist gathering on the 25th about a half hour away from you. Great bunch of Porsche enthusiasts, a great group drive, BBQ, beer (and other beverages), some DIY demo's for those pesky mod's your gonna want and a huge resource for all things 993 for a new owner:
