FWIW, I've got Textars in mine (running the Big Red TT calipers) and they don't make any noise. Not sure how the initial bite compares to other pads, but the max stopping power is enough to overcome the grip limit of the NT-01s on the track, so I'm not sure I need any more stopping power.

As my car is a weekend toy and not tracked its not about the marginal stopping performace at this point, its simply a "DO NOT WANT SQUEAL" issue.

Also, the splitters came from GT-3 TEK and I (to date) have no issues with them. The painted up well and mounted easy!

Understood. I'm just saying that Textars don't make any noise on the street on my car, so I'm not convinced that the pads themselves are the source of noise problems for those who are saying they squeal. In addition, they seem to have more than enough stopping power when I do run them on the track, so overall I have not found a reason to pay double to get the Porsche boxed ones...

Hi Rob,

EXACTLY why I have shunned all that other goop long ago and went with the Lubro Moly (I think LM508, IIRC ...will have to look at my tube to confirm), which is an anti seize but also a hi-temp grease. It works, plain and simple. Even at track-braking temps, perfect. Doesn't harden or goop up but wipes right off when you need to. If you're keeping your pads, try this stuff without the spiders ...you may just solve your squeal.

I'm confused as he-- myself: ordered original Porsche pads from a dealer, got Textars in original Porsche box.

Not sure what's happening, as the only reason I ordered through them was I wanted original Porsche pads.

But Porsche dont make pads......................the only difference between Textar boxed pads and Textar pads from Porsche might be the compound

Yes, Textar makes the pads for Porsche. They also make pads known as OEM TEXTAR pads that are a lot less expensive. The question is are the compounds they are made from the same. Steve W. says they are not, and I tend to believe him as he has forgotten more things about Porsches than I will ever know . That being said, I always run OEM TEXTAR pads, without the spiders, and do not have a squeeking problem...ever. And as for stopping power, lets just say I have not exceeded that yet either.

funny Porsche brake trivia... The Porsche supplied pads for a Cayenne say Pagid on the steel back and Texter on the thin metal backing plate.

and OEM supplied pads are exactly the same in this case

similar funny business when it comes to Boxster, 996 and 997 pads

as Darin said, we install OEM Textars on 993s with no issues.
Pagid OEM are another story

yup, and the interesting part is what shows up in which box (Porsche or OEM) for which year/model
and which friction material is used!

For what it's worth, I just installed the Textar Cermic and so far, I love them! Great stopping power for street (have not tested on track yet) quiet and no dust!
