Sunroof Headliner Blowout
Hi Everyone,
Last weekend the under piece of headliner attached to the sunroof blew out the entire rear sunroof seam length.
Has this happened to anyone else out there? How did you fix it and how much did it cost?
Thank you for your help on this. - Eric

I'm not sure what you are saying. The sunroof vinyl panel tore in 2 pieces?
If so, time to call some Porsche wrecking yards, it shouldn't be to expensive, & takes about 3 min to replace.

here is the DIY...
1. Put in key, turn on (don't start car)
2. Move sunroof back about 3-5in
3. Move fingers above panel & sunroof
4. Pull down panel, it will snap out, you can feel where the clips are.
5. Remove panel
Install, same as above, but push instead of pull.

It's held in place by 6 plastic clips.

If it's not damaged, you can take it out and glue it back. With the panel out you'll see it wraps around so that you can put a minimal amount of glue on the top (hidden) side of the panel.
Oh - and thanks for the public service announcement.

Mine is not nearly that bad, but is sagging on the back. I suspect this is mostly due to the hell-like Alabama summer heat. I wasn't sure how to take it apart, but it sounds easier than I was expecting.

It was closed.
Funny thing, I had so much Meguiare's vinyl protectant on it, that duct tape would NOT even stick to keep it from getting worse...
