Power Seat Vertical Height Adjustment Question

Is there a manual method to overide a stuck mechanism in the vertical adjustments as there is with the fore/aft adjustments??
I have 8 way power seats with a stuck rear vertical adjustment. The problem does not appear to be electrical in nature as I get a slight bump when depressing the switch, but no actual movement.
I searched the archives, but most problems appear to be with the fore/aft adjustments and not vertical.
Thanks for any assistance.

I had the same symptom; I could “bump” the seat up, not down. Turned out the switch was "bad." I took the switch apart and found the contacts were corroded. It was fun re-assembling the switch, springs, steel *****. I now use it sparingly. I took the whole seat out to diagnose what was going on, ended up taking too much apart. It gave me a chance to clean and grease all the moving parts.

To make the assembly of the switch easier one can "glue" the steel ***** to the springs with a littlebit of vaseline ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just remember to put a towel underneath the switch before disassembly so you don't loose any parts

Avslash, I can also tell you how to by-pass the switch to see if the cables and motor is in working order.
Akerlie, good tip on the "glue". It takes 4 hands to put them back together!
