Default Front License Plate Decal

Hello all,

I saw a front licence plate in the form of a decal (looked like it could be vinyl) which followed the contours of the front bumper much better than the metal plate. It looked reflective and had the same information and colors as the original metal plate. Does anyone know who makes these in the Seattle/Tacoma area? I read in a previous post that these could lie in the grey area according to the way the law reads for Washington State but it certainly beats having no plate at all.

Thanks,
Craig

There's a company in Newmarket, Ontario (Canada) that does this. You simply need to scan your plate and email them the file.

Lemme dig around and find their contact info....

Any local sign company should be able to make this plate for you. I've thought about doing it for my Miata, but no front plate, a low-worn baseball cap and sunglasses are effective defenses against mobile photo radar vans.

Kie - did you get that from the site above or a local sign company like what Mark mentioned. That looks great. Besides, it is not the photo radar I care about but the parking tickets. About twice a year I get a $50 ticket for no front license plate because I parked on the street and a meter maid walked by.

In Michigan...we have no front plate, which I always thought was brilliant. But, in these days of more active monitoring and the need for new revenue sources...I'm wondering how long before someone in the capital stumbles onto this idea. They're testing a satellite system for the UK that'll monitor your speed in all weather conditions and mail the ticket to you...now that would not be freindly. Personally...I'd take the ticket every once in awhile.

He's in a state where you are required to have a front plate, period...

A cop in a car or on a bike might pull you over and write you up...

A meter maid is already 'there' and its no more trouble to write another citation for not having a front plate...

I'm so used to being in a place where only one plate is required. I suppose then, if you don't have your rear one, the vehicle is considered abandoned and towed if parked on public streets.
