5 years old thread, lol

I wouldn't mind switching the wipers to the other side either though

Putting this on the list of 'eventual free/DIY mods' to consider. FWIW, not a big fan of the factory wiper positioning.

I can see the point of the water being pushed towards the driver once switched, maybe someone who's done the mod can chime in.

Does it make the wipers more effective? No.

Are they great in the first place...no.

If I lived in seattle and drove in the rain constantly, would I do this...no.

Am I happy with the new location after about 2 years....yes.

My suggestion, yank the relay, live with it for a while. If you decide you like it, get out your skinny hands and get in there to make it permanent.

If not, put the relay back in and no harm no foul.

Or move to CA. It pretty much stopped raining here. Then again I wouldn't wish this (living in CA) upon just about anyone.

Nice bump of this thread. Pulled the relay... so that is what it looks like with a clear view!

Just put away the toolbox and pull relay 42 which eliminates the intermittent wiper function and allows the blades to be parked on the other side of the windscreen.

3 minutes maximum time spent and no broken knuckles
search is my friend.....and this is the truth!

Well atleast now I can spend more time on my pollen filters

We get quite a bit of rain in the UK, and if I changed the wipers to sit on the other side I would be wiping water towards my field of view, not away, and also it would take longer to clear on the first wipe. And the wipers stop the rain running straight up the screen (to some degree).

Thats the reason Porsche placed the wipers the way they did!

And one more thing! LHD 993s in England already have the wipers on "the other side"!

Pending relay #42 removal. I live in the Seattle area so I’ll keep you all posted.
