Default Thinking of selling my sports seats...

As the title says I'm thinking of selling my sports seats and replacing them with some race seats. Thing is I'm in New Zealand and not sure how much of a deterrent that will be for would be buyers over the pond. I will package them well by wrapping them thoroughly and boxing them up to avoid any damage.

They're black with metallic black backs and have 63,000 miles on them. If I do decide to sell them I will cover the freight so what do you think they are worth and would buying them from NZ put you off? BTW they are out of a LHD car.

If I decide to sell them I will post better pics. I may advertise them here in NZ first but it is a very limited market.

In the past year, I've seen a range of decent seats with some bolster wear sell for $2500 (lowest) up to perfect, as new seats sell for $4K. Of course, asking prices go higher, but they sit on the market for months. There is a pair supposedly out of an RS (!?!) being offered by RPM motors on eBay right now for $6900, of course they've been on that merry go-round for quite a while ...

FWIW: I packaged a set of hard back 996 seats after they were shipped to me in California from Ontario, Canada. I sent them to Texas after re-dyeing and painting the backs. The buyer asked if they'd ever been used. So they can be shipped safely. Cost of packaging (best with wood platform) and shipping is another matter. BTW, backs are not metal.

I do not think he said the backs were metal, but metallic, as per the paint color....did I miss something?

Shipping from hemisphere to hemisphere would be quite costly at any price...unless they went in a container, private ship, or aircraft.

From someone actively shopping....

To be competitive a US person needs to get them to their door from 2k (need recovering, bad shape) to 5k (perfect, black, crests, etc.). So I think it comes down to what it would cost to include shipping in your pricing.

To correct an earlier statement, the genuine RS seats at RPM have an asking price of 5900, not 6900. I know for a fact he is considering reasonable offers over 5000. Still a lot of coin, but indeed flawless, rare, etc. Since I want my backs painted to match, would just be too busy with the grey inserts. But for the right buyer, I don't think that they are terribly over priced. Maybe a bit.

They've since lowered the price and relisted.

There was a set that sold about 2 weeks ago on Ebay UK for $2,260 USD. They looked to be in great shape. Don't know if the buyer was local or what the shipping cost would have been to the US.

Glad you're not going for those seats Mr. S. As I said, those seats are VERY rare. They look like normal 993 Sport Seats but are completely manual adjustment. Didn't "get" the grey centres from day 1 but they are what they are.

To the OP, seats are worth probably 2.5-3.5 US. International shipping is sketchy at best.
