1997 C2S Polar Silver Black Interior For Sale: $29.5K NO LONGER FOR SALE :)
Putting this on Rlist and Pelican First...hope it goes to a fellow P-Car enthusiast here!
FINAL PRICE UPDATE before she goes into storage 9/17/10: 29,500.00
PRICE UPDATE 9/9/10: $30,993.11
Price: $32,993.11
Mileage: 125K miles (yes, that's 125,000 miles)
All factory, save for the addition of a CD changer in the trunk.
Only option aside from the S body is a factory ordered S-Turbo kit...not sure why anyone would order a $7K option on a car like this without getting an ounce of extra performance, the original PO probably traded up to a nice souped up Honda Civic with a huge birth canal like exhaust system.
THE GOOD: Well sorted, recent $4K major service (belts, hoses, electrical), serviced at Automotive Associates. New Bridgestone Pole Positions all around, new Front brakes and rotors Everything works as it should...well most of the time. Shocks have been changed out with factory parts at some point in the past.
THE BAD: Central locking system sticks on occasion, probably a door lock actuator, hasn't been a big enough PITA to bother with. Original paint, front end has been resprayed sometime in the past. PO put an audio amp in and the sound coming from the speakers sucks but if you're looking for a car with nice sound, check out the system in the 2011 cars coming from Hyundai they'll smoke anything Porsche offers. Have some but not all service records. Original PO had it serviced at Porsche so they're probably available from there, second PO was a DIY guy and I've used Automotive Associates since I've had it. Needs new floor mats, the original ones were pretty well worn so I tossed them.
THE UGLY: Ain't nothin ugly about this car. Well...depending on who you ask...a factory Turbo S kit without a Turbo engine could be considered fairly damn ugly.
The true mark for a decent 993 in my opinion is its driveability cross country and i'd not hesitate to do just that in this one.
Why I'm selling: 993 TT...blame UserA...he got one and now I have to have one.
Independent PPI's welcome...there are some good 993 wrenches in the area: Musantes, Automotive Associates and Hairy Dog Grrage. The car is located in central Connecticut.

The window sticker had the 17" cups with spacers on the rear wheels as standard on my last three C2S cars. I think the C4S cars came with 18" twists as standard. Upgraded to the 18" on my '98 but much preferred the highway ride on the 17 inch cups despite the aesthetic improvement on of the 18 inch hollow spokes.
The last time I ever used a Porsche dealership for service was when I put those 18" wheels on my '98 S. A fellow traded in his track '996 TT and had the original TT wheels in new condition for sale at the dealership. I bought them and they promptly installed them and left the spacers on! The kid doing the install thought it looked 'sick' with those flared out wheels. I asked him if he could mod it so that the front wheels were flared 2" outside of the fender too...he seriously thought it was possible.
Dave, you're right, Polar Silver was an option on window sticker, and an expensive one at that, surprising giving how beautiful Arctic Silver is, but as others have posted, the polar silver really looks great in different conditions if you've kept it up.
I'll post the window sticker if I can find where my wife made me lose it in the multitude of paper that runs our daily lives.

Update, after some crazy driving this past weekend the car has been trashed.
Well...that's only if you feel an additional 2K miles to the odometer is trashing it
Now I'm not sure i want to sell anymore. Maybe a $30K additional garage bay is in order. Or perhaps a car lift so I can stack 'em? After all, the garage has 15' ceiling height. My other option is to put them in tandem style. The bays run deep but two 993's end to end leave about 1" of clearance from the garage doors. Are the 993TT's the same length as the C2S models?
