Agreed. My 993 came with yellow seat belts from the factory. 14 years later and 57K mi they do show quite a bit of grime. Not too bad overall, but not a good choice for anyone who values that garage queen look in an older car.

Yup, just tell them to close their eyes and hold their breath as you spray 'em down.

Mechanics and owners are people too, you know.

I've been meaning to put red seatbelts in too. I'd have to hire someone to do it as I am not mechanically gifted. How many labor hours should I factor in ? How much time on the front vs. back seats? THX!!

Sooooo easy of a job, I did it myself. If you live in the LA area, come on over and I'll help you out. As a DIY job it is a 2 of 10. About an hour.

Me: "I'm installing red seat belts in the 993."
Wife: "Are they expensive?"
Me: "Just under $1,000."
Wife: "What??"
Me: "Safety."
Wife. "Whatever."

so a Porsche mechanic could get this done in an hour? I am wondering about labor hours for pricing reasons.

Not trying to be an *** here but I do not get the matching seat belt mod? It draws the eye to a part of the vehicle that is really not that appealing. Does it really cost approx. $1000 to do it?

No need to point out the color... it only draws attention.

The fashionista rules state that seatbelts should match the calipers.

Get rid of the back ones of just leave them black. Then you get what you are after for less than $400. Probably a reason the back ones have no stock in the US. Anybody know where I might find some silver ones?

There is an online store that sells seat belts in all different colors. They are about $75 each and come with the receptacles that have to be mounted to the seats. I'll have to find the URL, but it's a lot cheaper doing it that way than going OEM. The quality is basically the same, they are DOT approved.
