Smile Need advise on how to mate tranny to engine

I am having one heck of a time trying to mate the engine back to the transmission. The engine currently sits on top of a motorcycle stand. I can almost get the stud threw, but it binds.

Anyone have any suggestions? I am thinking about putting mobil 1 grease in the holes to help ease the studs threw.

Much appreciated!

Maybe park the cars real close to each other. Dim the garage lights or light a few candles. And maybe play some Barry White!

The bores for the stud on the gbx are oversize so greasing these isnt your problem. Double check your t/o bearing is aligned properly as the ears can bottom on the gbx casting if not horizontal.

How far along can you get the gbx onto the engine studs? Pics?

Also, may wish to spin the gbx output shafts in efforst to align the spline into the clutch disk.

As you get her close to mating, be sure to place the rubber dust shield in place near the crank position sensor, they're fun to install once the two lumps are mated.

Finally got the tranny/engine mated, but my car didn't have the dust cap. It really didn't dawn on me until after the car was put back together.

How hard is it to install the cap, what are the ramification if omitted from the installation?
