WOT position
I have been searching post archives , but cant find answer. On my 95 non v ram with the throttle depressed all the way to the floor stop, I can reach in and open the throttle alot more . Is the stop on the throttle body WOT or does it go past ?. Also I pulled the floor board up and noticed there is alot of play in the cable with pedal at rest .
Thanks
Thanks

should the pedal imediately pull the throttle body open, because my pedal will depess several inches before cable pull.
As for the throttle body , it will open up more than 100% but the stop is at least close to WOT, correct?
it would not be able to open say, 130% right?
I think my cable is way off because I can open the body alot more before it hits the stop( after pedal is depressed all the way down)

I just posted on this a couple of days ago as I adjusted my 96. The advice I went by was that you can see and feel when the throttle is at max by having someone fully depress the accelerator in the car and then feel in by the throttle body (more difficult on the varioram models). If there is still room for the valve to open you are not getting WOT -mine appeared to be getting about 75%.
I adjusted the accelerator pedal (adjusting lock nut behind the pedal) till there was no more give in the throttle flap at the throttle body and the pedal was just touching the stopper on the wooden floor board
I was amazed on how more "angry" the car was when I stomped on it. Easy to adjust and worth checking out.
Bunch of stuff on this if you check the archives as well. My technical usage may not be quite as accurate as others ....

I saw your post and it made me go out to check, but i was shocked at how much I could open that valve before it stopped!! I must have only been reaching 60-70 % at WOT. I will do what I can to take up the slack. Thanks alot guys

AFAIK you should not be able to manually push the throttle open if the pedal is all the way to the floor.
It's an interesting question, whether pulling the throttle cable all the way to the stops actually goes BEYOND the fully open position. That would seem like a bizarre and poor design if so.

The throttle body has a stop just like a carb. If you can manually open the throttle any more than the cable will allow you are not getting full throttle.
Your cable should have a few mm of free play before movement of the pedal pulls on the cable. Adjustment is possible at three points - extending/shortening the rod linking the back of the pedal to the linkage, at the ball joint at the end of the cable under the footplate and finally at the cable length adjuster under the metal transmission cover.
If the cable has lots of slack, I'd start with the adjuster under the car.

Andreas, i hope you are joking...
Guards red, exactly. I used the adjustable rod between the pedal and the linkage. You can feel at the throttle body as to whether there is still room to go when the accelerator is fully depressed

This is a common issue on the 911s with the 3.2 and Motronic. I can't remember all the details, but one should be able to hear the wide open throttle switch/relay quietly click at about 75% throttle opening and also adjust so the linkage opens the throttle so that about only 1 mm gap between the end of the cable thing and the throttle stop. The adjustment is on the bell crank under the car beside the transmission - the 993 is likely different in this regard, though similar in theory.
O.K. I managed to take up alot of cable slack at the pedal ,but I will have to go under for more.
The throttle body opens about 90% and holy **it the car flies of the line, like a bat out of hell !!!!!!!!!
I love this car!
The PO has no idea what he was misssing Haha>>>>>>>>>
