There is really only one movie with Porsches that matters...

In short, if a character in a film drives a Porsche, there's a good chance he's a world-class a**hole.

Like most of these things unfortunately there is some truth to the stereotype which is why it sells. When I lived in LA the joke was that newly divorced dentists all move to Marina del Rey and buy/drive 928s. Obviously far from the truth but true emough that the myth persisted. Let people think what they want, I'm happy to live in my real world and I do what I can to avoid contributing to the stereotype.

The one 'comment' listed some good movie examples of Porsche drivers/owners and I'll add one more to the positive list. Flashdance from the early 80's An early '80's 911 was featured quite often and was owned by Alex's boss/boyfriend. He was a good guy throughout. The only part that made me cringe was when the big dog jumped on the side of the car.
Then on the other hand I just thought of that Showtime series with David Duchovny called Californication, I believe. He drives the beat up Porsche with the one headlight. Oh well...

Yeah I was just gonna mention this. Its a very dusty 964 cab. I love that he drives that. fits his character well. I think its a Tippy though.

RL "Office Space Porsche for sale..." thread.

Jalopnik.com's "Mmmm, Yeeah: Bill Lumbergh's Porsche Up For Sale!"

Movie filmed in Austin, TX...

Eric Bana's character in "Funny People" also drives a 997 cab, and his character fits the bill.

I read about that in another thread. Very interesting. I do admire Eric Bana. Excellent actor, especially in Munich. But he did play a pr--k in Funny People.

IMHO there are two different type of Porsche drivers.

Porsche Car Nut: This group just loves everything about the car. The smell, feel, look etc. It is probably fair to say that most of you that have been on this forum for any lengh of time are in this class.
