You may want to confirm this because last week the dealer here in Switzerland told me the 964 is NLA at the factory, sperceded by the 993

I was under the impression the only difference between 64 & 93 bonnets (hoods if you must) was the location of the windcreen washer jets. They are mounted on the 993 bonnet/hood, where as the washer jets are lovated on the scuttle of a 964 next to the wiper arms.

Not sure about the 993RS item being available generally in the Uk, there is at least one dealer who had a couple at that price, but I don't recall if they were old stock or still have them.

^^ I haven't weighed mine, but apparently this guy has done his. You can certainly feel the difference when you have the weight of the hood in your hand, while using the hood prop.

scuttle 1 |ˈskətl|
noun (in full coal scuttle)
a metal container with a sloping hinged lid and a handle, used to fetch and store coal for a domestic fire.
• the amount of coal held in such a container : carrying endless scuttles of coal up from the cellar.

Also to sink a ship or move in quick, short steps. Odd, that even the OED doesn't reference scuttle in relation to cars; common usage in the UK. I guess it comes from scuttle shake ( sounding like a coal bucket? ), referring to bulkhead flex and noise. Perhaps I should write to the OED, or perhaps not On with the original topic...
