Sure you can- you just need to re-organize your fiscal priorities.

Yup. Though more, need to re-arrange my female priorities; the further away I can re-arrange her the better. Better for my finances.

I don't know what the steel ones weigh but the Al ones weigh almost nothing.

Also remember to purchase the hood 'prop rod' when using the aluminum hood....aluminum hoods and 2 gas shocks really don't go well together IMHO.

http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p93121.htm

AFAIK, 964 Aluminum hoods are NLA.
There are some 993 aluminum hoods still available (Gert has them) but they are not an exact 100% fit to the 964 IIRC.

Most folks who have a 964 aluminum hood take them off out of fear of damage (using a steel or CF or fiberglass) for this reason.

when they were last advaialble (6+ years ago) they were 6K from the factory.

very reasonalble price for just about any non-bent condition.

when i raced my car or just tracked it the hood stayed in my garage.

the 993 lid is same shape, but has holes for the windshield washers.
They do not cost as much as 6K though.
