We need to construct a rotating lift to expose the underside creating an altar and every Sunday we can all come pay homage and take communion. I'm a fricking neat freak but i have yet to descend into the depths you have my friend..maybe someday.

tried on engine and tranny in vain
alu stayed dotted with dark spots and dull

Went through two pairs and two boxes of nitrile gloves. Buy the thick ones as they do not rip apart so easily.

I have never tried WD40. Brake cleaner works but it is not easy on the eyes if you are looking up (Even w/safety glasses). Xenit is the best if you let it soak. The process is a bit frustrating. I would try and remove as much as possible using a putty knife or wire brush on a cordless drill. That allows the Xenit to "break the surface" and works much faster. Wish you were close, I would help you. Want to fly me to Paris

We use to have this addiction! Our 55 356 PreA Outlaw was our baby. Over a thousand Q-tips and a variety of cleaners, polishes etc.
After winning Class and Division in Full Concours at Parade we drove the snot out of it!

I have stayed away from this thread because I get overwhelmed by the pictures. It is like my OCD man gene becomes activated and I feel like I want to see my car like that. It will never come close but I sure admire your work!

Thanks! I really enjoy my 993 but I am now pondering selling it. I have done a ton of work getting her cleaned up and transforming her into my vision of an eye catching 993 but I am looking for a new project. I am thinking of building a vacation home in the mountains. I have not made up my mind yet but the possiblity is there.

Funny how that works. We spend money and time to get our cars just how we like them... and then move on. I'm very guilty of this myself.

Having spent far more time on motorcycle forums, I've noticed that.

I came up with the theory that ownership is not so much about the vehicle, but the need to buy toys for the bike (or car). The sport bike riders (and others) would buy all this bling and farkle, and when there was nothing left to buy, they'd sell out of boredom and start all over again.

Cripes, when I get my vehicles just the way I want them, I hang onto them.

Hey, this was work, and I ain't doing it for someone else...
