It was an invitation only event - they invited the past 10 years worth of winners back - (it was the 10th Anniversary) - probably the highest quality of any modified car show in the country.
They have these most amazing cars with incredible feats of engineering that are just OTT however i can marvel at the level of detail and skill it must've taken to build these things.
This year for the first time - they had a "Hot Euros" section and my car got the invite. I had to submit a spec sheet and photos and then be accepted - so the caliber was pretty high.
Whilst i knew i wasnt in for much of a chance - it forced me to finish off the interior and clean the wheel wells (0
and generally give the car the once over.
Thanks to a few of the people here for their help = Mr Clean and Mr Fister esp.
The killer of this all - I met some really nice people (non Porsche club ******* - i.e REAL enthusiasts) and made some great mates over the 3 day weekend. They dont give out anything other than first places or "Pinnacle Award" and as i was leaving on late Sunday night - i ran into a judge who said to me - "I didnt think it would be as close as it was - there was only 5 or 6 points between you and the Ferrari (the winner) So close"
Then ont he way home i realised that first place was worth $5000.00......
As i am still in the ugly throws of a divorce - i have very little $$$ (and def not enough to do any racing) it was just time spent with me and the car - very cheap therapy!
Some of the interior at 2:30 am the thursday night before the show.....

At the show: the rules stipulate:
1 - a floor 4m x 6m
2 - Spec Sign
3 - Barricades at no more than 800mm high
4 - Barricades cant be more than 5kg(in case they fall on a child)
So in the week leading up i scrounged and borrowed and made a few things to help...

Not bad for a car that gets driven to and from the track, is LEGAL, spanks the boys in the Gt3's and is covered in stone chips!

Simon,
Awesome pics! Love the GT2 flares on your car. But what the hell's wrong with your hood badge??
Some of the V8 engine builds are simply beyond comprehension.
Cool license plate.![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

Awesome pics Simon! I think your car looks great. Don't get me wrong, the others are AMAZING - but I buy a car for it to be driven, not to sit in the garage.

Impressive cars with equally impressive amounts of cleaning and polishing required. You've got to love those wide *** blower belts, makes the couple spares that we carry around seem pretty meek.

Simon, your car is epic. The other cars are nice too.
Cheers.
