While I had the dealer on the phone I asked them if they supplied triangles and first aid kits with 993's when they sold them new and they said that they and as far as they knew, all U.S. dealers, were required by Porsche to stock both as options to be offered when new cars were and are currently delivered to customers. Sorry if that conflicts with anybody's agenda, I'm just passing on the information that was given to me at the source.

So you talked me into it--I bought both yesterday at my dealer.
Triangle is a different part number with the last two digits being 06 not 02. Each was about $45 but with the PCA discount coupon got into the $35 range.

Oh, god, now I'll feel responsible if the first aid kit doesn't fit behind the front panel .. BTW, I ordered the Triangle using the 02 part number, so it will be interesting to see if it's superseded like yours. IIRC, the parts guy said they were pulling from NOS parts at some other dealer ...

Porsche provides the first aid kits and triangles on the Euro Delivery cars. Routinely, when you live in Europe, you have to go out and get those for your cars to register them. Porsche does this for you instead with a Euro delivery. (I have that red package which is pretty much standard now--they used to be a blue plastic (hardshell) box for the kit). The triangle is typical of those you see in Europe.

OK, now I am finding myself wanting a Porsche first aid kit. Great.
This feels similar to a new, lame song played on the radio... and at first you want to puke, but then, after a while... it grows on you. Before you know it you're on iTunes paying $1.35 for the dang thing.
JP, do you have a financial interest in these?
First aid kits are kinda cool and I guess I want one.
The triangles haven't had the same effect quite yet

You're not cheap, but you are easy ...
You mean like that song that's always playing in your shop by Lady Goo Gah or whatever that you guy's always say 'sucks' but then you start bobbing your heads and dancing around when your working on my car? That song??
No, unfortunately I have no financial interests in these, but now that you mention it, it sounds pretty good .....
I'm only doing the kit because I want the Cab to be as factory complete as possible. If the '95 didn't already have a kit and a triangle in the trunk, I'd probably stick the tool kit under the strap or something and get some flares as has been suggested before.... I think the first aid kit is probably only got a two year shelf life anyway. Besides, if you needed bandaids, would you REALLY open your pristine, factory first aid kit for THAT?? Now, the triangle, I'd probably use, especially if I got a flat at night .... you know, while I waited for the flatbed to arrive ...:-)

Ok, now I'm curious. I've been using the first aid straps to hold my jack, since there's not enough space in the center of the spare to hold more than the tool kit and the pump. Where does the jack go??? Pic anyone?

OK so I place an order, and pay in advance for, the triangle (06 part number--I still suspect that I will not get what I expect there) and the first aid kit. Parts guy at the dealrership says there are 7 of the kits in Atlanta and it will be here in 4 days.
NOW he tells me that Porsche will not release the kits for U.S. use!!?? Neither the parts guy nor his manager have ever heard of such a thing. No explanation as to why, just not coming and I get a refund.
So now that I'm committed, I'm in the hunt for a first aid kit. Any suggestions?
