Yeah, probably right.... I am "hoping" to get the ins co to commit to repaint of hood and LF fender as part of the repair work needed on the RF fender and front bumper cover.

I know $3000 for the whole car is dreaming.... I am just hoping maybe $3000 +/- IN ADDITION to the work already required might be doable... we shall see....

But, yes, I expect to be unhappily surprised..... even with the tax free status (saves 19%) AND the "We like the old cars a lot" discount which I get from them (usually another 10%) it'll probably be more than I can swing at the present time....

I don't have any current info on prices coming out of Werks I, but in the early '90s a '73 RS passed my way that had been refurb'd by them to the tune of about $75K (cars were worth maybe $50K at that time). I know a lot of it was mechanical (car was stripped), and it was an undamaged car when it went in.

Exactly - which is why high quality repaints are rarely done unless there is no other choice (like an insurable accident).

I actually consider that it is worthy wrapping any car that is in a good state, looking great and as you said is "shiny".
