So I cleaned out my trunk this past weekend, and after removing the spare tire, found 3 holes in the trunk floor. The holes look like they should have grommets, but nothing shows up on PET.

So, are these open holes (through which I can see pavement) correct, or should there be grommets?

Those are drain holes and there are supposed to be plugs for them. Black, triangular ones. You could probably get them at a hardware store.

I figured as much. Triangular grommets you say? hmm, I might have to stop at lowes.

Triangular when you look at them from the side. They are still round if you look at them from above or below. The pointy bit points to the ground so you can pull it if you're underneath the car.

hmm, I can picture what I need, but I don't think lowes would have it.

I'm surprised they wouldn't show up on pet.

Actually, they are round grommets with a tube that hangs down... very similar to the headlight bucket drains on 911's. I saw one for sale the other day on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-P...item5adacb2423
No affilitation, etc, etc.
Not sure if they are selling the right ones, but they sure look like it.

i wondered the same thing. i think i'll just put some tape over it. i'm going to remove the spare tire to make the car lighter. over here, we'll just call a towing service to get the car should anything happen or at the very least, i'll bring those things in a can to seal tire holes.

hmm, that part number doesn't show up on PET, but pelican has them listed as headlight drains.

Wonder why it doesn't show up.

I wouldn't remove the spare as it acts as a buffer in case of a frontal impact.

The headlight drains are molded plastic parts that snap into the bumper cover under the RH and LH vent grills for the oil and A/C heat exchanger. Completely different parts.

well they are headlight drains for the older cars.

Anybody have any pics of these things?

Rubber drain plug for the front pan is p/n 911 631 259 02, very inexpensive (for a Porsche part) at the dealer.

They are in the PET, just shown on a very strange location, will update when i have found them.

Edit : Cant find it in the PET now, but i know its there somwhere, just in a very strange place. The part no above is correct

The price on ebay is quite good for a pair. I remember that my local stealership charged me a fortune for them.
