993 Mods on a Budget

993 Mods on a Budget
Have had fun slowly modding my '96 Carrera RoW coupe for the last year while on a constrained budget. Regularly combing through the usual online venues - flea-Bay, Craig's List, Rennlist and other boards, etc - has yielded some pretty good deals on both new and used 993 parts. Hard as it is sometimes, patience and persistence is usually rewarded.
My best deals were 1) a set of 4 low-mile M030 Sport (orange) shocks scored on eBay for $100, and 2) 18" Sport Design Porsche wheels (w/ Pirelli PZero Rosso "track" tires) for $825, also on eBay.
What's been you're experience? What have been the best-bang-for-the-budget mods you've done to your 993?

HID headlights, clear corner turn signals, strut tower brace, silver Porsche hood crest, new Lloyd's floor mats, and big oval exhaust tips are all the relatively inexpensive 993 mods that I can think of off the top of my head...most of these can be had new for about $100-$200 or so.

Well, got lucky on these. Nobody else bid. Supposedly they were take offs from a '97 Turbo w/ ~18k miles. They looked very clean/very nice when they arrived, and they sure feel great. Huge upgrade over the worn-out stock Monroes they replaced (these are also Monroe). Really want PSS10s or HDs, but these Sports are a fine - and cheap - interim upgrade.

Tore's HID kit (if you don't have factory litronics), and the LEDs in the corners are the best "cheap" mod.
Best mod overall is the short ratio transmission, with RS Clutch and lightweight flywheel. Save your pennies though for that one!
Oh, and the cassette holder delete.
