Default OT: Volvo S60 Starting Problem

I know this isn't a Volvo site but I'm in a bind here...I just got back from a late night run to pick my daughter up from work because her 2002 Volvo S60T left her stranded.

This is the second instance of an intermittent starting problem that popped up once before about three weeks ago...The battery seems to be strong...The starter turns the engine over rapidly, there is fuel in the tank but the thing won't fire...The last time this happened the car sat for about 15 minutes and then started....This time, the car had been sitting for almost 7 hours.

I don't even know where to begin with troubleshooting and the closest dealer is about 65 miles away.

Any ideas with regarding to a starting point for diagnostics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Terry

I would post this question on www.swedespeed.com. Sounds similar to our 993 DME symptom. Good luck.

fwiw, I've had a few Volvos in the past including the S60.

Did it go into limp mode first? Has the ETM been replaced recently? That's a major known problem.
Check here: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/vol...module-fiasco/
p.s., that's also a great website for trouble shooting Volvos.

Could be MAF and MAP sensors. Usually cleaning them up will get the car started. But you will need to replace them.
