Default A few jobs done..

Following my recent purchase and as the MOT was due I went through the car with a fine tooth comb (again). The only major item I found was the steering rack. Although there was no leakage or obvious symptoms when I pulled back the gaiter/boot fluid squirted out so it had to be done. I also found that it had been contaminated by mixing fluids sometime in the past so along with other items on my personal snagging list..

Jobs done:

Steering rack - re conditioned
System flushed/bleed and replace fluid
Rear toe arm replaced (slight play)
Replace n/s door strap (squeaking not clicking)
Replace engine mounts (w/t item)
Refresh g/box oil
Full Geo and adjustment to rs spec
New MOT
Replace g/box oil

Next will be a replacement windshield so will check for the famed rust issues.

Car feels so much better following the Geo etc so thanks to those who suggested I have it done.

Also striped off the old wax and machine polished to remove any light scratches and used Swissvax product to bring up to a good finish. Even though the car has only 21k miles on the clock there are always things to do (mainly because I am a PITA re condition)

Ah the joys of 993 ownership...

Hey digger dont know if i missed it, but how many miles on your car? I got the chum deal from a friend on a 1995 993 with 60,000 miles, did lots of the stuff you did. also replaced shocks and springs, front lower control arm bushings and both rear toe links. it seems like this is pretty standard on these cars.

Certainly sounds a good deal

Ive replaced quite a few items based simply on the aged factor not necessarily because they are shot as its low mileage at 21k. Not done the shocks etc as they are in order but no doubt I will in time.

Although its a weekend car I intend to drive it as much as possible including a few trips to Europe, they are beauty to look at but much better to drive, enjoy it and keep the car healthy IMO
