Default Replaced all my hood shocks today

The backs now are super charged. When I pull the handle in the car to open the lid it fly's up. Should I be concerned that it has so much strength?

Thanks for any info

Mine seemed to have lots of gusto for several months, then they calmed down a little. Mine were stock.

Don't worry.. In a year they will seem "soft" again.

They change with the weather, don't worry about it, they will show down fast. I would put a hand on the hood as you release it.

I got away with only changing one side so it's didn't fly open. I figure the shocks will last longer since one is out of the engine heat for a while.

It was not too bad, I think it took about 40 minutes in total.

Sunset, FD, or any favorite as the price is pretty close.

Nice tool to hold the pin!

To keep from dropping the little spring clip, I slid a small tie wrap thru the loops in the clip. It gave me somthing to hang on to and let me control the position. down't want to drop it or it will be gone....

Beautiful. Two great ideas to help with this job. DanQ, I remember the zip tie idea from when you showed me. I really like the 10G female spade connector with the coat hanger tool idea too. I need to replace mine soon. They are at the point when they work depending on the weather. These two ideas should make that job much easier.
